Sedgehill School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in south-east London, England. It was originally opened in 1957 as a flagship campus for the new comprehensive education strategy, intended to replace the existing grammar, central and secondary modern schools. Much of the interior and fittings were very avant garde and included especially designed 'Sedgehill furniture' that was later adopted by other schools run by the London County Council education department. In 2008, the School had over 1,800 pupils with over half from ethnic minorities. The school was re-built in 15 months (while the old school was still open) by the London Borough of Lewisham to create a state-of-the-art learning environment. The project cost £6.3M and was carried out by Costain. The students moved into the new building in January 2009. ==Notable former pupils== * Django Bates (born 1960), jazz musician * Nicholas Bennett (born 1949), MP for Pembrokeshire) * Denis Bond (born 1946), children's author * Jim Dowd (born 1951), MP for Lewisham West and Penge〔()〕 * Nathaniel Facey, saxophonist in Empirical * A *M *E (born 1994), Aminata Kabba, singer * Chris Kibble (born 1963), jazz musician * Francis Rossi (born 1949), lead vocalist and guitarist in Status Quo)〔()〕 * Ken Scott (born 1947), recording engineer and producer for The Beatles, David Bowie, Elton John and Supertramp) * Steve Sutherland, DJ * Leo Taylor, musician, drummer of The Invisible and session drummer for Adele and Hot Chip * Kieron Toner, economist and author〔https://www.econbiz.de/Record/a-comparative-analysis-of-the-incentive-effects-for-investment-of-irish-and-uk-policies-toner-kieron/10001554243〕〔Toner, Kieron, The Cart Before the Horse: Australian Exchange Rate Policy and Economic Reform in the 1980s, Earlybrave Publications, 2000.〕 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「Sedgehill School」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
